This Standard specifies two test methods of the resistance of all rubber boots (shoes)to water penetration: air aeration method and immersion method.
This Standard is applicable to resistance to water penetration test of all rubber boots (shoes) for various purposes.
2 Principle
2.1 Air aeration method
Sealed rubber boot (shoe) is inflated with certain-pressure compressed air and then immerged in the sink, and over time inspected for bubbling on its surface. If it is free form bubbling, the rubber boot (shoe) passes the resistance to water penetration test.
2.2 Immersion method
The tested rubber shoe (boot) is submerged, after immersion for a while, taken out and inspected for water seeping into inside. In case of no water penetration into the shoe (boot), it passes the resistance to water penetration test.
