This standard specifies the requirements for making material, welder code number, heat treatment and nondestructive inspection, etc. marks in the boiler products and their transferring methods.
This standard is applicable to the pressure components and main bearing components in the boiler products and the raw materials and spare parts on which the material and welder code number stamps, heat treatment and nondestructive inspection marks need to be made as required according to the product drawings and technical specification. Auxiliary products of boilers may refer to the provisions of this standard.
2 Material Mark and Transferring Provisions
2.1 Material mark content is material designation (or material mark) and the material inspection number of each manufacturer (carbon steel may not be marked by material designation or code number)
2.2 The range of the raw material and parts required to be marked by the material mark
a) Raw materials: boiler plate, structural steel plate used for wing plate and web plate of large plate beam, boiler tube, section steel (flange beam not less than No.25 and U-steel), round steel (used as tension brace of boiler shell-type boiler and as hanger rod with diameter not less than 40mm; alloy steel hanger rod diameter is not limited), forging (header end cover, centralized downcomer, flange and tee etc.);
b) Parts: boiler drum body, head, manhole cover, manhole ring, stiffening plate, centralized downcomer, tube joint with external diameter not less than ?159mm, piping, connecting tube, header drum, end cover, handhole cover, wing plate of large plate beam (or main beam), web plate, forging flange, tee, elbow, lifting lug, alloy steel hanger rod and carbon steel hanger rod with diameter not less than 40mm etc.;
c) Steel grade (or code number) shall be stamped or casted on the boiler's alloy steel pressure-bearing casting;
d) Those required in technical specification, product drawing and the relevant documents.
2.3 Stamp mark position
If the mark position is indicated in the drawing, the stamp mark position on the material and parts shall be according to the drawing provisions, if not, mark according to those as shown in Figure 1~Figure 18 (口 in the figure is the mark position). If the positions of the material or parts are not enough, the material mark may be recorded into the transmission card (or workticket).
2.4 Mark transferring
2.4.1 Mark transferring of the received materials
2.4.1.1 After the raw material is qualified in the incoming inspection, it shall be made the approval mark after being made the material designation and material inspection number of this manufacturer, inspected by the inspector and confirmed.
2.4.1.2 The surplus returned raw materials may not be stored with the materials with the identical designation and specification until they have material designation and inspection number mark as well as inspector's approval mark.
2.4.2 Mark transferring of the blanking material of the cold working pieces
Workshop materialman shall check whether the designation, inspection number of the received materials are consistent with those on the "Material Control List". During blanking, the material marks are transferred to the block (section) required to be blanked; the surplus materials cut off the blank shall not be cut out of the blanking until it is made the material designation and inspection number mark, confirmed by the inspector and made the approval mark.
2.4.3 Mark transferring of the parts' blank and in the manufacturing procedure
The operators in each procedure shall check the material marks to ensure the mark distinct and visible. If the original mark is processed in the manufacturing procedure, the original mark shall be transferred on the non-working surface easy to be observed, confirmed by the inspector and made the approval mark. Those are found disqualified in the next procedure shall be rejected. In the manufacturing procedure, the approval mark of the inspector of the last procedure does not belong to the transferring content of this procedure.
2.4.3.1 Process the non-marked side for machining one firstly, transfer the mark to the processed side, and then process other sides after being confirmed by the inspector and made the approval mark.
2.4.3.2 For parts to be processed continuously for many times or only processed at the marked end, the operator of the first procedure shall register the mark into the temporary registration card or the material mark transmission card, and process after confirmation and signature of the inspector, and then transfer according to the procedures; the operator shall fill in the cards and sign after the completion of each procedure and the inspector shall confirm and sign;after the completion of the last procedure, the operator shall transfer the marks on the registration card to the parts and stamp the approval mark after being confirmed by the inspector.
