1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types, basic parameters and sizes, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of electro-hydraulic drum brakes (hereinafter referred to as brake).
This standard is applicable to the drum brake using electro-hydraulic thrusters (hereinafter referred to as thruster) as the driving device.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the terms and definitions established in JB/T 6540 and the following ones apply.
3.1
Brake releasing
Brake shoe braking visard releases contact with braking couple braking surface and eliminates braking moment.
3.2
Brake setting
Brake shoe braking visard contacts with braking couple braking surface and sets braking moment.
3.3
Applying force by the brake-spring
Spring force that generates braking force or braking moment
3.4
Rated applying force by the brake-spring
Spring force that generates rated braking force or rated braking moment
3.5
Shoes clearance
It refers to the average distance from the shoe braking visard to the braking couple braking surface under the released state of brake.
3.6
Shoes aligning
Through some devices or some measures, where the brake is closed, shoe braking visard can normally contact with the braking couple braking surface; under the normal release state, any position of braking visard cannot contact with the braking couple braking surface.
3.7
Working stroke of the thruster
It refers to the distance that thruster push rod moves from the working initial position to the final position when the brake is working.
3.8
Work for once braking
It refers to the friction braking work made by or the braking energy generated by the once dynamic braking of brake.
