1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This Specification is formulated in order to ensure the quality of PVC-U doors and windows engineering, as well as achieve advanced technology, economic rationality, safety and reliability.
1.0.2 This Specification is applicable to the design, construction, acceptance, maintenance and repair for the unplasticizied polyvinyl choride (PVC-U) doors and windows.
1.0.3 Design, construction, acceptance, maintenance and repair of PVC-U doors and windows shall not only meet the requirements of this Specification but also comply with those in the current relevant ones of the nation.
2 Terms
2.0.1 Safe glass
It refers to the glass that can generate the minimum harm to the people during the application and damage process.
2.0.2 Compatibility
It refers to the performance that contact between sealing materials or between sealing materials and other materials will not generate harmful physical or chemical reaction.
2.0.3 Location blocks
It refers to the elastic material block, between glass edge and groove, preventing the relative motion between glass and groove.
2.0.4 Setting blocks
It refers to the elastic material block, between glass edge and groove, exerting supporting actions and making the glass in the middle of the groove.
2.0.5 Auxiliary frame
It refers to the structural member pre-assembled at the wall opening before doors and windows are installed, through which the door and window connect with the wall.
2.0.6 Masking tape
It refers to the adhesive tape or other manufacturing materials pasted on the substrate surface to prevent sealant (if injected) polluting the substrate.
3 Engineering Design
3.1 General Requirements
3.1.1 Performance indexes and relevant design requirements of PVC-U doors and windows shall be determined reasonably according to the actual conditions of climate and environment where the buildings exist as well as the functional requirements of buildings.
3.1.2 If any one of the following conditions exists in the door and window engineering, safe glass must be used:
1 Window glass whose area is greater than 1.5m2;
2 Window glass below 900mm away from the tread height;
3 Inclined window with not greater than 75° included angle with the horizontal plane, including ceiling including skylight and daylight lamp;
4 Outward opening window of building of 7 storeys and above
3.1.3 Door glass shall be arranged with obvious warning signs at the height of sighting line.
3.1.4 Thermal performance design of PVC-U doors and windows shall meet the relevant requirements of the design standards for energy efficiency of the residential buildings and public buildings.
3.1.5 The inertia moment for the lining reinforcement steel in the major stressed member of door and window shall meet the force requirements; reinforcement steel shall tightly match with the inner cavity of sectional material.
3.1.6 As for the composite window spliced by single-frame windows, the splicing mode shall meet the design requirements and the expansion and contraction deflection of window shall be taken into consideration at the splicing point. Composite door and window openings shall be arranged with frame-splicing material connecting pieces or reserved holes at the corresponding positions of frame-splicing materials.
3.1.7 Light-weight block or aerated concrete wall openings shall be arranged with embedded parts at the connecting part of door & window frame and wall.
3.1.8 Glass setting blocks shall select the hard rubber or plastic whose Shore hardness is 70~90(A). Vulcanized regenerated rubber, wood chip or other water absorbing materials shall not be used. Length of blocks should be 80~100mm; width shall be 2mm and above more than the glass thickness; thickness shall be determined according to the clearance between frame or sash and glass, and should not be less than 3mm.Location blocks shall be able to absorb the deformation generated by temperature changes.
3.1.9 Mosquito and fly prevention measures should be considered in the design of PVC-U doors and windows. Window screening used in the door and window shall adopt aging-resistant, rust-resistant and flame-resistant materials.
