1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This standard is formulated with a view to adopting appropriate welding technology and unified acceptance quality standard in the reinforcing steel bar (hereinafter referred to as rebar) welding, making the construction state-of-art and ensuring construction quality.
1.0.2 This standard id applicable to construction, quality test and acceptance of welding of reinforcing steel bars in concrete structure for construction works.
1.0.3 The welder engaged in welding of reinforcing steel bars must mount guard upon holding welder certificate.
1.0.4 The construction and quality test of rebar welding shall meet the requirements of the related current national compulsory standards, besides the requirements in this standard.
2 Terms
2.0.1 Resistance spot welding of reinforcing steel bar (rebar)
A pressure welding method - placing two rebars in the form of crossing splicing, between two electrodes, heat fusing parent metal by resistance and pressurizing to form soldering point
2.0.2 Flash butt welding of reinforcing steel bar
A pressure welding method - placing two in the form of butting, melting the metal of contact point by resistance, generating strong splash and rapidly applying the upset force to complete welding
2.0.3 Arc welding of reinforcing steel bar
A fusion welding method - taking welding rod and rebar as electrodes respectively, and welding with electric arc hot generated by welding current
2.0.4 Narrow-gap arc welding of reinforcing steel bar
A arc welding method - placing two rebars in horizontal butting form in a copper mould, reserving a little of clearance, generating the arc from the root of joint with welding rod, and continuously welding upwards
2.0.5 Electroslag pressure welding of reinforcing steel bar
A pressure welding method - placing two rebars in vertical butting form, generating electric arc hot and resistance hot by arcing and forming electroslag under the soldering flux layer (welding current flows through the end clearance of rebars), melting rebars and pressurizing.
2.0.6 Gas pressure welding of reinforcing steel bar
A pressure welding method - heating the joints of two rebars with oxyacetylene torch or other flame, to make the joints plastic state (solid state) or melted state, and pressurizing to completing welding
2.0.7 Submerged-arc pressure welding of reinforcing steel bar at prefabricated components
A pressure welding method - placing rebar and steel plate in a tee joint form, arcing under soldering flux layer with welding current, forming molten pool and pressurizing to complete welding
2.0.8 Pressed depth
Embedded depth of two rebars in resistance spot welding of welded frame or welded mesh
2.0.9 Reinforcement; excess meld metal
Height of metal on weld toe connecting line on weld surface
