1.0.1 This code was formulated with a view to enabling the design for exhibition building meet basic requirements on such aspects as safety, applicability, sanitation, economy and exhibition process.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design for constructed, renovated and extended exhibition buildings.
1.0.3 The exhibition building scale may be divided into scales of oversize, large size, medium size and small size according to the total exhibition area within the base and shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.0.3.

1.0.4 The exhibition hall grade may be divided into Grade A, Grade B and Grade C and shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1.0.4.

1.0.5 The exhibition building shall be designed by adjusting measures to local conditions, basing on such factors as local climate conditions, geographic position and economic and technical development level and combining China's national conditions, and it shall reflect the advanced level of local architectural art, science and technology as well as cultural development.
1.0.6 The design for exhibition building shall combine with the exhibition process design according to the properties, characteristics and development trends of exhibition buildings and shall follow the sustainable development principle.
1.0.7 The design for exhibition building shall not only meet this code, but also shall comply with those in the current relevant ones of the Nation.
2 Terms
2.0.1 Exhibition
The social activity that is organized for the exhibition of temporary exhibit or service, facilitating the popularization of products and services and the exchange of information and technology.
2.0.2 Exhibition building
The building that used for conducting the exhibition.
2.0.3 Exhibition space
It is the generic term of all indoor and outdoor areas of the exhibition building used for exhibition, including the exhibition hall and exhibition ground.
2.0.4 Exhibition hall
The indoor space used for displaying exhibit or providing services.
2.0.5 Exhibition ground
The outdoor site used for displaying exhibit or providing services.
2.0.6 Standard exhibition booth
The standard display unit which meets the exhibition requirements, its dimension is 3m×3m.
2.0.7 Exhibition passage
The traffic walkway that is set between and around the exhibition booth.
2.0.8 Exhibition area
The area of the exhibition zone that is occupied by the exhibition booth and exhibition passage.
2.0.9 Public service space
The zone that provides business affairs, shopping, rest, entertainment, traffic and other support services for spectators.
2.0.10 Storage space
The zone used for storing exhibit, appliance and relevant facilities.
2.0.11 Exhibiter's storeroom
The zone used for exhibitors to store exhibition appliance.
2.0.12 Administrator's storeroom
The zone used for the administrator to store non-exhibition appliance.
2.0.13 Auxiliary space
The zone used for providing administrative offices, temporary offices, rooms for equipments, etc.
2.0.14 Administrative office
The office used for the administrator to conduct administrative affairs and engage in all kinds of business activities.
2.0.15 Temporary office
The office used by the exhibition host's staff.
3 Site Design
3.1 Location
3.1.1 The location of exhibition building shall meet the requirements of urban master planning and its rational layout shall be conducted by combining the requirements of urban economy, culture and relevant industries.
3.1.2 The location of exhibition building shall meet the following requirements:
1 The traffic shall be convenient and shall be easily contacted with such traffic facilities as air harbor, port, railway station and bus station; the oversize exhibition building shall not be set in the urban center and there should be matched with track traffic facilities nearby the oversize exhibition building;
2 The oversize and large size exhibition buildings shall make the best of public service and infrastructure;
3 The location shall not be selected in the zone that impacted by the harmful gas and smoke dust, and its distance from the noise source and the place for storing combustible and explosive substances shall meet the requirements of the current relevant standards of the Nation on safety, sanitation and environmental protection;
4 The district that the terrain slopes gently, the site is dry, the drainage is unobstructed, and the ventilation, engineering geology and hydrogeologic conditions are better should be selected.
