Article 1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to making the architectural design of general hospital meet the basic requirements in such aspects as security, hygiene and function of use.
Article 1.0.2 This code is applicable to the architectural design of those constructed, renovated and extended general hospitals, and the other special hospitals may be implemented by making reference thereto.
Article 1.0.3 The one having the following conditions simultaneously will be "general hospital":
I. Set with more than three departments, including general department of internal medicine and general department of surgery;
II. Set with outpatient service and 24h emergency treatment;
III. Set with regular hospital beds.
Article 1.0.4 The determination of the scale and criteria of the hospital as well as the arrangement of medical -technical section offices and special wards shall be implemented according to the approved design specification.
Article 1.0.5 The design of such general hospitals that are applied for the disabled shall be in accordance with those specified in the relevant professional codes.
Article 1.0.6 The architectural design of general hospitals not only shall comply with this code, but also shall be in accordance with "Code for Design of Civil Buildings" JGJ37-87 as well as the relevant design standards, codes and regulations issued by the state and the specialized departments.
