1.0.1 This specification is prepared with a view to standardizing the application of fiber reinforced concrete in construction engineering, ensuring engineering quality, and achieving advanced technology, safety and reliability and cost-effectiveness.
1.0.2 This specification is applicable to the mix design, construction, and quality inspection and acceptance of steel fiber reinforced concrete and synthetic fiber reinforced concrete.
1.0.3 In addition to this specification, the application of fiber reinforced concrete also shall comply with those specified in the current relevant standards of the nation.
2 Terminologies
2.0.1 Steel fiber
The fiber made of thin steel wire by cutting off, thin steel sheet by cutting, steel ingot by milling or molten steel by extracting, etc.
2.0.2 Fiber reinforced concrete
The generic term of concrete mixed with short steel fiber or short synthetic fiber.
2.0.3 Steel fiber reinforced concrete
The concrete mixed with short steel fiber as reinforcing material.
2.0.4 Equivalent diameter
The diameter of a circular section which is converted according to the equal sectional area principle when the fiber section is noncircular.
2.0.5 Aspect ratio of fiber
The ratio of length to diameter (or equivalent diameter) of fiber.
2.0.6 Synthetic fiber
The fiber made of organic synthetic material via such technologies as extrusion, extension and modification.
2.0.7 Fibrillated fiber
The synthetic fiber which can form a net after being unfolded.
2.0.8 Synthetic fiber reinforced concrete
The concrete mixed with short synthetic fiber as reinforcing material.
2.0.9 Fiber content
The mass of fiber in every 1m3 of fiber reinforced concrete.
2.0.10 Fraction of fiber by volume
The percentage of the volume of fiber in the volume of concrete.
