This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and labeling, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of hinges for building windows and doors.
This standard is applicable to hinges for building side-hung doors and side-hung windows, opening inward, and is not applicable to hinges for frameless side-hung glass doors, screen windows and doors and folding windows and doors.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5823 and GB/T 32223 and the following apply.

hinge
device for connecting door/window frame and leaf/casement for a purpose of supporting door leaf/casement and implementing the inward and outward rotation of door leaf /casement

visible hinge
hinge with exposed part where door leaf /casement is closed

concealed hinge
hinge without exposed part where door leaf /casement is closed
4 Classification and labeling
4.1 Classification and code
4.1.1 Classification by application
Hinges are classified into two types by application:
a) door hinges, coded as MJ;
b) window hinges, coded as CJ.
4.1.2 Classification by installation forms
Hinges are classified into two types by installation forms:
a) visible hinges, coded as MZ;
b) concealed hinges, coded as YC.
4.1.3 Classification by bearing level
Where the single-leaf door or window is classified by bearing level of a pair (2) of hinges, an integer multiple of 10kg is taken as the bearing level (e.g., where the bearing load is 26kg, the level is expressed as 20kg).
