1.0.1 This specification is formulated in order to adapt the demand of using modified bitumen to pave pavement, guarantee construction quality of highway modified asphalt pavement, improve pavement service performance and increase service life.
1.0.2 This specification is applicable to the construction and curing of hot-mixed and hot-laid modified asphalt pavement of newly-built and renovated highway; the users shall carry out technical and economical comparison according to such special requirements as road service environment and traffic conditions to determine the application of modified bitumen.
1.0.3 Before construction of modified asphalt pavement, the detailed construction plan and construction organization design shall be compiled; during the implementation, the production and construction quality shall be strictly controlled.
1.0.4 The use of the modifier, modified bitumen and modified asphalt mixture and the construction of modified asphalt pavement shall not only meet the requirements of this specification, but also meet the requirements of national current relevant standards and specifications.
1.0.5 If other modifier or modified bitumen not specified in this specification is adopted, the technical requirements and index shall be determined under the premise of ensuring project quality through experimental study according to actual conditions, and the corresponding construction requirements shall be established for the approval of competent department.
1.0.6 If modified bitumen is applied to special project such as steel bridge surface, the stricter technical requirements and standard than this specification should be established separately.
