This Standard specifies terms and designation principle of raw hide, product-in-process, leather production process, physical and chemical analysis and sensory inspection, leather defect skin and leather parts classification etc.
This Standard is applicable to tannery industry. Reproduced leather may also refer to it. Formulation, quality comparison, enterprise management, technical exchange, teaching material preparation etc. shall all adopt this Standard.
This Standard is not applicable to man-made leather and synthetic leather.
