Warning: the personnel using this standard shall have practical experience in regular laboratory work. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems. The users are under the obligation to adopt proper safety and health measures and shall ensure conformance with the requirements specified in national relevant regulations.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test method for perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) in footwear and its components through LC-MS/MS.
This standard is applicable to the determination of perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoate (PFOA) in footwear components made of textiles and leathers.
2 Normative References
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this standard. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated reference, the latest edition (including all the amendments) applies.

3 Principle
The textile part of the sample is ultrasonically extracted with methanol. After being concentrated and scaled, the extract is determined and confirmed by liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer and quantified by external standard method.
The leather part of the sample is ultrasonically extracted with methyl tert butyl ether and aqueous solution of tetrabutylammonium hydrogen sulfate. After being concentrated and scaled, the organic phase extract is determined and confirmed by liquid chromatograph-mass spectrometer and quantified by external standard method.
