This specification specifies the requirements for design of filed instrument installation in petrochemical industry, excluding the installation design of wire, cable, compensation conductor and instrument thermal insulation, heat tracing and the instrument in control room as well as analysis instrument, safety and control system.
This specification is applicable to the design of field instrument installation in petrochemical industry and for the newly-built, extended and rebuilt engineering in the factory making fuel and chemical products from coal.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this specification, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
Environmental condition
The range of parameter values of surrounding environment required by function unit protection or normal work.
3.2
Operating limits
The range of operating conditions possibly bearable by device and not likely to cause permanent reduction of operating characteristics.
3.3
Ambient temperature
The temperature measured at typical location in the local environment (including the adjacent heating device) where the measurement and control devices are under normal operation, storage and transportation.
3.4
Vibration
The movement reciprocating and/or rotating periodically with basic frequency.
3.5
Process
The operation of making one or a series of physical conversion or chemical change.
3.6
Process measurement
Get process variable value by physical or chemical method.
3.7
Measuring sensor
The sensitive element used during measurement to convert the actual physical or chemical variable of the process to the signal easy to use or convert.
3.8
Device
The device, device combination or element combination used to realize intended function.
3.9
Meter
The device used to measure or indicate measured variable.
3.10
Measurement transducer
The variable device in physical or chemical state used to convert variable in physical or chemical state to the same or other properties for the convenience of further usage or treatment.
3.11
Transmitter
