Warning: This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determination of total fluorine in coal by oxygen bomb combustion-ion selective electrode method.
This standard is applicable to determination of total fluorine in coal containing 25% ash or less.

3 Summary of Test Method
Total fluorine is determined in this test method by combusting a weighed coal sample in an oxygen bomb with a dilute base absorbing the fluorine vapors. The bomb is rinsed into a beaker with water to mix with the absorption solution and following the addition of a citrate buffer, the total fluorine is determined by fluoride ion selective electrode.
