1.0.1 This code was formulated with a view to implementing the national relevant laws and regulations, as well as railway technical policies, unifying the technical standards for design of road and drainage for railway station and yard and making the design of road and drainage for railway station and yard meet the requirements on safety and serviceability, advanced technology and economic feasibility.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the design of road and drainage for the constructed and renovated standard gauge railway station and yard, in which passenger and freight trains share the same track and the maximum running speed of passenger train is 140km/h or below, in national railway network.
1.0.3 The design of road and discharge for station and yard shall have an overall planning and shall coordinate with local land and water traffic, drainage system, flood defense facilities, environmental protection, and water and soil conservation. Renovated station and yard shall make full use of existing road and drainage equipment.
1.0.4 The design of road for station and yard shall meet the requirements of the general layout of station and yard and shall properly make use of topography and select correct technical standards based on the road property, traffic volume, function and service requirements.
1.0.5 The station and yard shall have good and sound drainage system for eliminating surface water, so as to ensure the subgrade stability and the safety and reliability of station and yard equipment.
1.0.6 The quantity of drainage equipment shall be determined according to such factors as local precipitation, catchment area of station and yard, topography, geology, meteorology, location of bridge and culvert, horizontal/longitudinal section of subgrade and water outlet.
1.0.7 The design of road and discharge for station and yard under special soil and special conditions shall be determined considering engineering measures.
1.0.8 The design of road and discharge for station and yard shall comply with not only this code but also the current relevant mandatory standards of the nation.
2 Basic Requirements for Road of Station and Yard
2.0.1 For road of station and yard, its plan layout should be parallel to the axis of railway line, freight platform, freight lot, production and living buildings; its design shall meet the requirements for firefighting, environmental protection, water and soil conservation, and labor safety and health, etc.; its profile design shall be coordinated with railway line, passenger and freight equipment, building and pipeline design.
2.0.2 Roads of station and yard are classified into vehicle road, pedestrian road and electromobile road by function of use.
Vehicle roads may be classified into four classes by traffic volume, traffic function and service function:
Class I C primary road of large-scale freight yard (ring road and primary road to the entrance/exit of freight yard);
