1.0.1 This regulation was formulated in order to unify and improve the construction process and methods of high strength bolt connecting of railway steel bridge, strengthen construction technology management and ensure engineering quality.
1.0.2 This regulation is applicable to construction for friction type high strength bolt connection of railway steel bridge.
Construction for high strength bolt connection of railway steel bridge with new technology, new material and new process may be carried out by reference to this regulation.
1.0.3 Construction for high strength bolt connection of railway steel bridge shall not only meet the requirements of this regulation but also the current relevant standards of the Ministry of Railways.
Chapter II Construction Preparation
Section I Order, Storage, Transportation, Retest and Preservation of High Strength Bolt Assembly
2.1.1 High strength large hexagon head bolt assembly used for railway steel bridge is composed of a 10.9S high strength large hexagon head bolt, a 10H high strength large hexagon nuts, and two HRC 35~45 high strength washers.
2.1.2 Model, size, form and position tolerance and technical conditions of high strength large hexagon head bolt assembly shall meet the requirements of the national standards "High Strength Bolts with Large Hexagon Head for Steel Structures" (GB/T 1228-91), "High Strength Large Hexagon Nuts for Steel Structures" (GB/T 1229-91), "High strength Plain Washers for Steel Structures" (GB/T 1230-91) and "Specifications of High Strength Bolts with Large Hexagon Head, Large Hexagon Nuts, Plain Washers for Steel Structures" (GB/T 1231-91).
2.1.3 High strength bolt assembly shall be supplied in batches by manufacturer, and must be provided with product warranty provided in batches by the manufacturer.
2.1.4 On arrival of high strength bolt assembly, they shall be retested timely and only acceptable products shall be used for the bridge; the retest shall meet the requirements of the national standard.
2.1.5 In the process of transportation and preservation, high strength bolt assembly shall be kept away from rain and water, and shall be handled gently to prevent thread from being damaged.
2.1.6 High strength bolt assembly shall be preserved in classification according to batch No. and specification marked on the packaging box with indoor overhead storage not more than five layers. They shall not be unpacked at will so as to prevent rust and dirt during the preservation.
