This standard specifies the service conditions, general requirements, basic requirements, technical performance and inspection rules of brake for electric locomotive (hereafter referred to as "brake for locomotive").
This standard is applicable to the brake for newly-made electric locomotive (hereafter referred to as "locomotive").

3 Service Conditions
3.1 The brake for locomotive shall be able to work normally under the following environmental conditions:
a) At an altitude of not exceeding 2500m;
b) The operating environment temperature is -40~50℃;
c) The monthly average maximum relative humidity of the wettest month is not greater than 90% (the monthly average minimum temperature of this month is 25℃);
d) The inclination in relation to the normal position is not larger than 10°;
e) The components installed outside the vehicle body shall be able to withstand the invasion of wind, sand, rain and snow;
f) The shock and vibration conditions shall meet those specified for Class 1 Grade B equipment in TB/T 3058-2002.
3.2 The control power of brake for locomotive is DC 110V, the voltage range is 77~137.5V, the power quality complies with the requirements of TB 1126-1999; DC 110V or other power may be adopted for the cold-proof and heating device.
3.3 The pressure range of wind source for braking is 750~900kPa, the maximum pressure is 1000kPa and the quality shall meet the requirements for Grade 3 solid particles, Grade 2 humidity and Grade 3 oil content specified in ISO 8573-1-2001.
