This standard specifies the classification and code for railway freight transport names all over the country.
This standard is applicable to the nationwide operations of railway transport and ticketing, revenue audit, transport statistics, transport planning, transport organization, operation management information system, financial analysis, cost accounting, and other freight-related businesses.
2 Classification Principle
2.1 Classification shall be on the basis of the national standard GB 7635-87 Classification and Codes for National Industrial and Agricultural Products (Commodities Supplies) and in combination with the characteristics of railway transport production and operation and the needs of industrial management.
2.2 Classification shall be conducted mainly according to the natural attributes and production characteristics of the freight and with some individually according to the use, considering the requirements of the national economic significance, transport volume, transport conditions and transport price of the freight at the same time.
2.3 Classification shall meet the needs of various aspects such as transport price, statistics, planning, finance, transport organization and management, operation management information system and fulfill information resources sharing.
2.4 Classification shall adapt to the needs of management modernization development, properly take care of the current management level, give consideration to the convergence and comparability of historical data and the need for reform of transport price, and leave room for expansion.
2.5 This standard is compatible with national standards and relevant standards.
3 Code Structure and Coding Method
