This standard specifies production and inspection requirements of Grade A~H (Appendix A) carbon steel forgings (except axle).
This standard is applicable to carbon steel forgings for rolling stock and other railway equipment.

3 Requirements
3.1 Forged steel shall be produced in open hearth furnace, electric furnace or basic oxygen furnace.
3.2 Chemical composition of steel shall be in accordance with those specified in Table 1. Steels with the carbon content of 0.25~0.40 may be in accordance with the requirements of GB 699 and GB 700.
