4 General Requirements
UMTS is the third-generation mobile communication system using WCDMA air interface. The entire UMTS system consists of a User Equipment (UE), a Radio Access Network (UTRAN), and a Core Network (CN). The UMTS system is also refered to as WCDMA communication system in this standard.
See YD/T 1214-2006 for the requirements that shall be met for WCDMA/GSM (GPRS) dual mode digital UE operating in GSM mode.
See YD/T 1547-2009 Technical Specification for 2GHz WCDMA Digital Cellular Mobile Communication Network for the requirements that shall be met for WCDMA/GSM (GPRS) dual mode digital UE operating in WCDMA mode.
This standard mainly specifies requirements for dual mode digital UE involving WCDMA/GSM (GPRS) inter-RAT interoperability, radio frequency and protocol performance.
See YD/T 1215-2006 for the test method of dual mode digital UE operating in GSM mode.
As for the test method of dual mode digital UE operating in WCDMA mode, refer to YD/T 1548.1-2009 Test Method for 2GHz WCDMA Digital Cellular Mobile Communication Network User Equipment (Phase III) - Part 1: Basic Functions, Services and Performance and YD/T 1548.2-20094 Test Method for 2GHz WCDMA Digital Cellular Mobile Communication Network User Equipment (Phase III) - Part 2: Network Compatibility Test
This standard mainly specifies the test method of dual mode digital UE involving the interoperability, radio frequency and protocol performance of WCDMA/GSM (GPRS) systems.
