This standard specifies the limits and measurement methods of fuel consumption for motorcycles and mopeds.
This standard is applicable to motorcycles and mopeds powered by spark-ignition engines and right three-wheeled motorcycles powered by compression-ignition engines.
This standard is not applicable to the vehicles only consuming gas fuel or alcohol fuel.

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB 14622-2016 and GB 18176-2016 and the following apply.

Type I test
measurement of the average fuel consumption for motorcycles and mopeds under specified operating cycle conditions
3.2
reference speed
the traveling speed of right three-wheeled motorcycles and mopeds when carrying out fuel consumption test (Type II test)
