This standard specifies seismic ground motion parameter zonation map of China, and its technical element and application provisions.
This standard is applicable to seismic resistance of construction, renovation and extension engineering and preparation of socioeconomic development and Utilization of territory planning.
2 Definitions
The following definitions are adopted in this standard.
2.1 Seismic ground motion parameter zonation
It is taken seismic peak ground acceleration and characteristic period of the seismic response spectrum as indexes and divided into the land into the areas with different requirements for seismic resistance.
2.2 Seismic peak ground acceleration
It refers to the horizontal acceleration corresponding to maximum value of seismic acceleration response spectrum.
2.3 Characteristic period of the seismic response spectrum
It refers to a period of the points when seismic acceleration response spectrum starts to drop.
2.4 Probability of exceedance
It refers to probability when a certain field encounters possibly is larger than or equal to given seismic ground motion parameter.
2.5 Requirements for seismic resistance; requirement for fortification against earth-quake
It refers to criteria of construction engineering to defend seismic damage and the seismic intensity or seismic ground motion parameter adopted by seismic design under a certain risk level.
3 Technical Requirements
3.1 The scales of "Seismic Peak Ground Acceleration Zonation Map of China" and "Characteristic Period of the Seismic Response Spectrum Zonation Map of China" are 1: 4000000.
3.2 Seismic resistance level of "Seismic Peak Ground Acceleration Zonation Map of China" and "Characteristic Period of the Seismic Response Spectrum Zonation Map of China" is 10% probability of exceedance for 50 years.
3.3 The site conditions of "Seismic Peak Ground Acceleration Zonation Map of China" and "Characteristic Period of the Seismic Response Spectrum Zonation Map of China" are flat and stable common (half hard) sites.
3.4 "Characteristic Period of the Seismic Response Spectrum Adjustment Sheet" is divided by four kinds of sites.
