1 Scope
This standard specifies the limits, test methods, sampling and inspection rules of vinyl chloride monomer, soluble lead, soluble cadmium and other volatile matter in polyvinyl chloride artificial leather.
This standard is applicable to the polyvinyl chloride artificial leather (hereinafter referred to as artificial leather), foaming or unfoaming, with or without base materials, produced by coating, rolling and compounding processes with polyvinyl chloride resin as principal raw materials and proper accessory ingredient.

3 Requirements
3.1 Limit content of vinyl chloride monomer
Vinyl chloride monomer content in polyvinyl chloride layer of artificial leather shall not be larger than 5mg/kg.
3.2 Limit content of soluble heavy metal
In artificial leather, soluble lead content shall not be larger than 90mg/kg, soluble cadmium content shall not be larger than 75mg/kg.
3.3 Limit content of other volatile matter
Other volatile matter content in artificial leather shall not be larger than 20g/.
4 Sampling Rules
4.1 Sampling shall be carried out according to the requirements of relevant product standards. Sampling shall be carried out according to the requirements of 4.2~4.4 of this standard if there are no sampling requirements in relevant product standards.
4.2 One roll of samples from each batch of products shall be taken randomly.
4.3 Samples shall be taken after getting rid of the outermost 3 layers of the roll of samples, and 1m part along length direction of product shall be cut off.
4.4 After extracting, the samples shall be put in the shade with non-polyvinyl-chloride plastic bags for sealing and they shall be free from any special processing.
