This standard specifies the performance requirements and test methods of tire pressure monitoring system for passenger cars.
This standard is applicable to Category M1 vehicles.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
tire pressure monitoring system; TPMS
a system installed on a vehicle that monitors tire pressure in some way and gives alarm when one or more tires are under inflation
3.2
recommended cold tire pressure; Prec
tire pressure value recommended by the vehicle manufacturer for the tire at each position for the predetermined operating conditions of the vehicle (e.g. load, vehicle speed, etc.) at ambient temperature, without accumulation of pressure due to use
Note: Prec is generally is indicated in the vehicle user manual or on the driving cab door (B-pillar), fuel tank cap, storage box, etc.
