1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical requirements, testing methods and marking of non-powered air-purifying particle respirator.
This Standard is applicable to the non-powered air-purifying respiratory protective equipment for various particles.
This Standard is not applicable to the respiratory protective equipment for harmful gas and steam. This Standard is not applicable to the respiratory protective equipment used in the anoxygenous environment, underwater operation, escape process and fire fighting process.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

Particle
Solid, liquid or solid - liquid granular materials suspending in the air, e.g. dust, fume, mist and microorganism

Dust
Tiny solid particles suspending in the air that is generally formed by the process of solid materials being crushing under mechanical force

Fume
Tiny solid particles suspending in the air that is generally formed by the process of gas or steam being condensed, with a particle size generally less than that of the dust
