1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to satisfying the requirements of production process, conserving energy, improving labor condition, enhancing economic benefit and guaranteeing the quality of insulation engineering design.
1.0.2 This standard is applicable to the insulation engineering design of industrial equipment and pipe with its outside surface temperature at between - 196℃ and 850℃.
This standard is not applicable to the insulation design of instrument and pipe for the nuclear energy, aviation and space system that have special requirements as well as building pipes, cold storage pipes and long-distance pipelines.
1.0.3 The following common requirements shall be met in insulation design:
1.0.3.1 The application environment and adiabatic surface temperature shall be considered in selecting materials that comply with the current national and professional standard. As to the new materials, they may be adopted only after the verification of the national inspection department.
1.0.3.2 In insulation design, adiabatic computing shall be done according to the process, energy-efficiency, dew-prevention and economy requirements, and the insulation structure shall also be determined.
1.0.4 In insulation engineering designing, not only the requirements stipulated in this standard, but also those in the current relevant ones of the nation shall be complied with.
