1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to promoting the technological upgrading and structural adjustment for the seamless tube manufacturing in the construction of seamless tube engineering and to improving the process design quality and design normalization for seamless tube.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the process design for the construction, renovation and extension of seamless tube workshop.
1.0.3 This code is applicable to the preparation of project verification report, feasibility study report, preliminary design and construction drawing design documentation.
1.0.4 The principle of accelerating the elimination and prohibition of the hot rolling unit for seamless steel tubes up to 76mm in outer diameter shall be embodied in the process design for seamless steel tubes.
1.0.5 The process design for seamless steel tubes shall comply with not only this code but also those specified in the current relevant standards of the nation.
2 Selection of Series
2.1 Selection of Seamless Steel Tube Hot Rolling Unit Series
2.1.1 When preparing advanced design documentation, the type and specification of seamless steel tube hot rolling unit shall be selected according to the product program, raw material condition and comprehensive mill construction condition.
2.1.2 See Appendix A for the selection of the seamless steel tube hot rolling unit series.
2.2 Selection of Tube Cold-Rolling and Cold-Drawing Machine Series
2.2.1 It the products produced mainly are carbon steel, low alloy steel and alloy steel tubes in specification, tube cold drawing machine should be selected.
2.2.2 If the production scale is large, the products are produced into various categories and specifications and mainly are alloy steel, high alloy steel, stainless steel and precision steel tubes, precision steel tube for aviation with small specification, thin-wall steel tube and high-mechanical performance steel tube, cold-rolled and cold-drawn combined production process shall be adopted and tube cold-rolling and cold-drawing machines shall be selected.
