In order to ensure safety in production, this Rule has stipulated the most rudimental requirements on safety as to the design, manufacturing, inspection, rejection, operation and management of lifting appliances.
The strength, rigidity, stability, the minimum size of structural parts under corrosive operating environment and anti-overturning stability, etc, of lifting appliances shall usually satisfy the stipulations set forth in GB 3811 C 83: Design Rules for Cranes.
This Rule is applicable to bridge cranes (including metallurgical crane), gantry crane, handling bridge, cable crane, automobile crane, tire crane, crawler crane, locomotive crane, tower crane, portal crane, mast crane, elevator, electric hoist, as well as simple lifting devices and auxiliary means.
This Rule is not applicable to floating crane, underground lifting device for mines or people- carrying lifting appliance.
