This standard specifies the braking performance required by the vehicles equipped with anti-lock braking systems and its test procedure.
This standard is applicable to motor vehicles of Categories M, N and trailers of category O equipped with antilock braking system.

3 Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

antilock braking system, ABS
system which automatically controls the degree of slip, in the direction of rotation of the wheel(s), on one or more wheels of the vehicle during braking
3.2
sensor
component designed to identify and transmit to the controller the conditions of rotation of the wheel(s) or the dynamic conditions of the vehicle
