3 Technical Requirements
3.1 The manufacturing shall be carried out according to roller purpose and order pattern confirmed by the supplier and the demander and this standard. The technical requirements beyond this standard are determined through negotiation between the supplier and the demander.
3.2 Chemical composition and surface hardness of working layer and tensile strength of the roll necks shall meet those specified in Table 1.
3.3 Hardness uniformity of roll barrel surface is required to be less than five HSD.
3.4 Outer-layer thickness
3.4.1 Outer-layer thickness of centrifuge composite roll shall be larger 5mm than working layer.
3.4.2 The chill depth of the chilled roll shall meet those specified in Table 2; the chill depth difference of the roll barrel at the end face of the same side shall be less than 10mm and the chill depth difference of the roll barrel at end faces of both sides shall be less than or equal to 15mm.
3.5 Surface quality requirements
3.5.1 Visible manufacturing defect shall be free from the roll barrel working surface. The manufacturing defect not influencing application on other parts shall be repaired to reach the order pattern requirements confirmed by both Parties.
3.5.2 If the defects of the roller delivered by flat roll are in the hole pattern part and can be removed, the supplier and the demander may deliver by negotiation.
3.6 Internal defects of centrifuge composite cast iron roll shall meet the requirements of Table A.2 of Appendix A.
3.7 Metallographic structure inspection of roll neck of the nodular iron roll and ball core composite roll shall be carried out according to Appendix B; the roll neck spheroidization rate shall not be less than Grade 3 and Grade 1~5 of the roll neck carbide and ferrite volume shall be qualified.
3.8 Mechanical processing
3.8.1 Meets the requirements for the order pattern of the roller confirmed by the supplier and the demander.
3.8.2 Center hole: it is below 550mm from the barrel diameter; the center hole is recommended as 60° Type B and carried out according to GB/T 145; the center holes of the rollers with other specifications are recommended as 75° Type B and carried out according to Figure 1 and Table 3.
