This standard specifies the methods for the determination of the bursting strength of textile by polished steel balls, including the test piece bursting strength tests in two states of conditioning in standard atmosphere for test and soaked in the water.
This standard is applicable to various textiles.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this standard.
3.1
Bursting strength(strength at burst)
It refers to the measured maximum force in the process when the polished steel balls is pressed against the test piece in the direction vertical to test piece plane until the test piece is damaged.
3.2
Constant rate of extension testing machine
It refers to a test instrument to make direct ratio between test piece extension and time when one clamper of clamping test piece is fixed and the other moves at constant rate throughout the testing.
