This Part of GB/T 20234 specifies definitions, requirements, test methods and inspection rules of charging connection assemblies for electric vehicles.
This part is applicable to the conductive charging connection assemblies for electric vehicles with
- rated AC voltage not exceeding 250A, 50 Hz, rated current not exceeding 250A;
- rated DC voltage not exceeding 1000V and rated current not exceeding 400A.
If the standardization plugs and socket-outlets according to GB 2099.1 are applied on the power coupler of the charging connection assemblies, this Part is not applicable to these plugs and socket-outlets.
Note: The vehicles in this Part refer to the externally connected charging electric automobiles.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions specified in GB/T 19596, GB/T 18487.1 and GB/T 11918 -2001 and those specified in the following are applicable to this document.
3.1 Charging connectors
When the electric automobile is charged, the assemblies to connect electric automobile and electric automobile electrical equipment may possibly include the components such as power interface, vehicle interface, control box and capping sheet on the cable except the cables. The schematic diagram of charging connection assembly is seen in Figure 1.
Note: The charging mode and connection modes of the charging connection assembly this Part refers to are seen in Appendix A.
3.2 Charging coupler
In the charging connection assembly, power coupler and vehicle couplers are included except the components of cables and cable control box (if any).
