This standard specifies the test procedures for three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machines (machines are also known as motors).
This standard is applicable to self-starting three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machines. It may be referenced in the test of synchronous machines powered by static variable frequency power supply, but it is not applicable to the synchronous machine with DC excitation windings.
