This Standard specifies determination of the remains of broken sewing needle or ferromagnetic metal in textile products by metal needle detector.
This Standard is applicable to textile products as manufactured and processed. Raw material, semi-finished product and other products may also refer to it.
2 Principle
Induction of the remains of broken sewing needle or ferromagnetic metal will occur in textile products in the principle of electromagnetic induction, and thus being detected.
3 Detection Equipment
3.1 Detection equipment
Detection equipment with appropriate configuration form and sensitivity is selected according to detection property, type of the detected textile products as well as the requirements of relevant standards.
3.1.1 Conveyor-type metal needle detector: it is usually used either for manufacturing and processing enterprises of textile products to determine such ferromagnetic materials as iron pin and scrap iron left in textile products, or for detection organization to determine the remains of broken sewing needle or ferromagnetic metal in textile products. Common detection sensitivity (standard iron ball test card, also known as standard needle test block): 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm and 3.0mm.
