3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 2900.10 and the following ones apply.
3.1
nominal value
designated quantity values which are used in table frequently
Note: In this standard, the quantity value evolved from nominal value is generally inspected by measuring after considering specified tolerance.
3.2
median value
the value in the middle of several values obtained from test which are arranged in increasing (or decreasing) order in case the number of values is odd, or the average value of two values in the middle of such values arranged as above in case the number of values is even
3.3
rated voltage
the reference voltage adopted when designing, using and carrying out electrical property test
Note: In AC system, the rated voltage is expressed by U0/U. U0 represents the voltage effective value between any main insulated conductor and "ground" (metallic shield, metallic sheath or surrounding medium), U is the voltage effective value between any two-phase conductors in multi-core cable or single-core cable system. The rated voltage of cable shall be at least equal to the nominal voltage of cable system, and this condition goes for both U0 and U. In DC system, the rated voltage is expressed with U0 which means the voltage effective value between conductor and shield. The working voltage of system shall not be greater than 1.1 times of the nominal voltage of system.
