Determination of plastometric indices of bituminous coal English
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, method summary, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, coal samples, test preparation, test steps, result expression, method precision and test report for determination of plastometric indices of bituminous coal.
This standard is applicable to bituminous coal.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 483 and the following apply. For the convenience of application, some terms and definitions in GB 483 are listed repeatedly as follows.
3.1
plastometric indices
index proposed by Sapozhnikov to characterize the plastic property of bituminous coal, expressed by the maximum thickness of plastic layer, Y, and the final contraction value, X.
[GB/T 483-2007, Definition 3.3.5]
3.2
maximum thickness of plastic layer
Y
maximum distance between the level curves drawn according to the points on the upper and lower levels of the plastic mass determined in the determination of plastometric indices of bituminous coal
Note: It is revised from Definition 3.3.6 in GB/T 483-2007.
3.3
volume curve of plastic layer
curve as a function of temperature of the position on the upper level of plastic mass recorded in determination of plastometric indices of bituminous coal
[GB/T 483-2007, Definition 3.3.7]
3.4
final contraction value; plastometric shrinkage
X
distance between the end point of volume curve and the zero point line when the temperature is 730℃ in the determination of plastometric indices of bituminous coal
