This standard specifies depths for dyeing with dyestuffs 2/1, 1/3, 1/6, 1/12 and 1/26.
This standard applies for the following two conditions: (1) determination test for dye fastness and dyeing behaviour test; (2) visual assessment of dyeing depth selection.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following term and definition applies.
Standard depth
A series of acknowledged depth standards and moderate depth is defined as 1/1 standard depth. The colour of the same standard depth is the same in the psychological feel so that the colour fastness can be compared on one basis. There are six standard depths, i.e. 2/1, 1/1, 1/3, 1/6, 1/12 and 1/25.
