This standard specifies the thread form, dimension, tolerance and designation of pipe thread for thread pairs on which pressure-tight joints are made. These threads are taper internal and external, parallel internal and taper external and are intended for pipes, pipe joints, cocks, valves and other fittings interconnected by threaded joints.
If necessary, it is allowed to add appropriate jointing medium into the thread pair to ensure the pressure-tight joints.
This standard is equivalent to international standard ISO 7/1-1982 Pipe threads where pressure-tight joints are made on the threads.
