1 Scope
The requirements of cutting surface quality of oxygen cutting workpiece, inspection requirements and cutting quality grade requirements are specified in this part of JB/T 5000.
This Part is applicable to the flame cutting of low carbon steel, medium carbon steel and common low alloy steel who are in thickness of 6mm ~300mm.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions are applicable to this Part.
3.1 Flame cutting
It refers to the method of using the thermal energy of gas flame to preheat the cutting part of workpiece to a certain temperature, and the high-speed cutting oxygen flow will spout to burn the workpiece and release heat to realize cutting. Flame cutting is also called gas cutting.
3.2 Tolerance of verticality
In this part, it refers to the tolerance of verticality of cutting surface profile line in the given section vertical to the base plane and the cutting length direction. The tolerance zone is the zone between two parallel straight lines which are vertical to the base plane and cutting length direction, and the distance between them is the tolerance value t, see Figure 1.
