1 Scope
This standard specifies a method for determining the behaviour of the surface of a leather on rubbing with felt.This standard is applicable to all sorts of leathers.

3. Principle
One side of the leather to be tested is rubbed with pieces of reference wool felt under a given pressure for a given number of forward and backward motions. The changes in colour of the pieces of felt and of the leather are asseseed with the grey scales. Any other visible change in or damage to the surface of leather is also reported.
Note: During the test, the felt might be colour polluted certainly as the migration of coloring matter (e.g. the color migration caused by other possible reasons of coating , pigment, fuel or dust and leather surface).
