1.1 This Code specifies basic requirements for earthquake effect, iseismic calculation and iseismic measures of petrochemical structures.
This Code is applicable to iseismic design of structures for petrochemical in regions with iseismic fortification intensity of 6°~9° (hereinafter referred to as "6°~9°).
1.2 Petrochemical structures include:
a) Frame-bent structure composed of reinforced concrete framework, framework-iseismic wall structure and bent frame;
b) Steel frame-bent structure composed of load bearing steel framework, steel bent frame, steel framework and steel bent frame;
c) Tower-shape equipment foundation and foundation of vertical vessel with total aground height of greater than or equal to 10m;
d) Frame foundation of block form, coaxial type reactor and in catalytic cracking units;
e) Atmospheric vertical steel cylindrical tank foundation;
f) Steel frame supported steel spherical tank foundation;
g) Horizontal heat exchange equipment and horizontal vessel foundation;
h) Tubular heater converter and vertical heater foundation;
i) Ethylene cracking furnace frame and foundation;
j) Independent type pipe frame, spanning pipe frame, longitudinal beam-pipe frame and special tube frame;
k) Exhaust funnel and flare tower frame;
l) Counter-flow mechanical draught cooling tower and cross-flow mechanical draught cooling tower;
m) Ground, underground and semi-underground type reinforced concrete pools;
n) Round or rectangular cast-in-place concrete bin and urea prilling tower for storing materials bulk materials;
o) Free-standing chimney, reinforced concrete chimney and landing single pipe steel chimney.
1.3 This Code is not applicable to structures iseismic design for petrochemical in regions with iseismic fortification intensity of larger than neither 9°, nor it is applicable to be used as strained structure with itself and other large-scale pipe frame spanning rivers.
