1 Scope
This standard specifies the minimum technical requirements of PE tape coating for steel pipeline. This standard is applicable to the design, construction and acceptance for PE tape coating of steel pipeline. Design, construction and acceptance of PP tape coating may be carried out in reference to this standard.
The working temperature of PE tape coating pipeline shall be less than or equal to 70℃.
As for the design, construction and acceptance for PE tape coating of steel pipeline, not only the requirements stipulated in this standard, but also those in the current relevant compulsory ones of the nation shall be complied with.

3 Structure and Grade of Coating
3.1 Coating structures are divided into:
1. Composite structure composed of primer, anti-corrosion tape (inner tape) and protective tape (outer tape);
2. Coating structure composed of primer and anti-corrosion tape.
Design organizations shall select the structure according to the environment conditions, anti-corrosion requirements and PE tape product characteristics.
3.2 Coating grade
According to different pipe diameter, environment, anti-corrosion requirements and construction conditions, the coating structure and thickness (including the total thickness of primer, anti-corrosion tape, protective tape and coating) are changeable, but the total thickness of coating shall not be less than the requirements of Table 1. PE tape coating of buried pipeline should adopt reinforcement grade and special reinforcement grade.
