This standard specifies the general requirements, material requirements, structural requirements, manufacturing requirements, painting, lettering and marking, etc. of railway freight car.
This standard is applicable to the new standard-gauge railway freight car with design speed less than or equal to 120km/h and axle load less than or equal to 25t. The new railway freight car with design speed larger than 120km/h, axle load larger than 25t or special requirements may also refer to the provisions of this standard.

3 General Requirements
3.1 The design and manufacture of freight car and its components and parts shall meet the requirements of this standard, the relevant standards and the product drawings and technical documents approved by the established procedures.
3.2 The operating environment temperature is -40℃~+40℃.
3.3 The safety technical requirements shall meet those specified in TB 1560.
3.4 The shape contour shall meet those specified in GB 146.1.
3.5 The coupled freight car shall be able to pass the curve with minimum radius of 145m.
3.6 The strength design of freight car and its main components and parts shall meet those specified in TB/T 1335.
3.7 The dynamic performance of complete freight car shall meet those specified in GB/T 5599.
3.8 The loading and reinforcing devices set on freight car shall meet those specified in TB/T 3304.
3.9 The covered freight car shall have the performance resisting rain and snow seepage; the structure of open car shall be beneficial to water drainage.
3.10 The vulnerable and consumable parts which should be disassembled and assembled during operation and repair shall be convenient for replacement.
3.11 For the under-train fastened or suspended components, proper measures against looseness and release shall be taken, and safety protection devices shall be installed additionally if necessary. For the dismountable accessories like bonnets, proper protective measures against loss or accidental opening and dismounting shall be taken.
3.12 General freight car shall be able to pass car retarder and mechanized hump.
3.13 Automatic brake and manual brake shall be set, both of which shall be able to work independently.
